Lebuinhof Casino
The casino is the undercroft of this house, six steps down from the hall
Lebuinhof Casino is the brick-vaulted undercroft under the front of this house. The house runs it, and you reach it from inside, down from the hall, without going out onto the Bergstraat.
From the desk it is six steps down and about twenty paces along the vault. The steps are the original stone, worn in the middle, and people in a hurry have found that out the hard way. Somebody is on the door for as long as the room is open.

Six tables under 1623 brick
The casino floor has six tables and a short bar at the far end. On a Wednesday in February three are open. During the book market all six are, and the door counts people in and out, because a vault this size only holds so many.
The casino leaves the brick bare. It is the original, with the vaulting springing from the side walls at about shoulder height and the floor laid in the same brick on edge. There is no music and no clock on the wall, but the staff will tell you the time whenever you ask, and they have been told to offer.
The casino has no dress code. People come down in whatever they were wearing upstairs, and nobody has been turned away for it.
18, checked at the door every visit
The Netherlands sets the casino age at 18, and the house applies it to everyone. A document is checked each time you go down, so a guest who had supper at the counter an hour earlier shows one again.
The casino accepts a passport, a national identity card or a Dutch driving licence. A photograph of one on a telephone does not count.
Nobody under 18 comes into the casino at any hour, even when the room is shut for cleaning.
Agreed with a person, written down
Limits are set on the casino floor with whoever is working it. Give your figure before you sit down and it is written down and held for the evening; if you would like help choosing one, ask.
Staying out of the casino for a period is arranged in person at the desk upstairs; it cannot be done on the floor or by telephone. Self-exclusion is signed at that desk and takes effect the same evening. It is lifted only when you come back to the desk in person.
The floor offers no credit of any kind, and there is no cash machine in the undercroft, the hall or anywhere else in the building.
No games, bets, deposits or payments on this site
This is a land-based casino in the cellar of a house in Deventer. The website only describes the room and the house above it: it offers no games, takes no stakes, and holds no accounts or money.
To play, you come to the Bergstraat, go down six steps, show a document at the door and sit down. That is the only way in, and none of it happens on this page.
